Series consists of legal documents executed on behalf of the University by the Board of Governors, or conferring benefits on the University, such as bequests in wills. Types of documents include deeds, leases, contracts, agreements, wills and bond. The legal documents reflect activities on both the Windsor and the Halifax campuses from the early years through the late 20th century.

The major agreements that have shaped the University are in Subseries 5.1, subject files: Carnegie Corporation of New York; Dalhousie University Article of Association; and documents relating to the Royal Canadian Navy's occupation of the campus during World War II.

Sub-series consists of statements, summaries, lists, and other documents relating to University of King's College funds.

Most records in this sub-series were removed from the University of King's College Board of Governors fonds.

Series consists of ten letters John Dart wrote to others.

Sub-series consists of statements, correspondence, and ledger sheets relating to investments by the university.

Sub-series consists of minutes of the Investment Committee.

Records from the Investment committee, including minutes, agendas, reports, correspondence, and statements.

Insurance documents, including policies and receipts for the university.

Series consists of mostly letters between Eric F. Gaskell and Andrew Merkel discussing the addition of a library in the Haliburton House.

Series comprises official minutes of regular and special Board meetings. Series includes agenda support papers: documents distributed before or at meetings to provide background information for the various agenda items. In most cases, the documents formed part of packages that were sent to Board members prior to each Board meeting.
