Series contains documents pertaining to administration and daily running of the Library. Included are photocopy and film licensing agreements; statistical surveys; agreements with Dalhousie; job descriptions of each Library staff position, payroll documentation from 1989-2005, complaint/suggestion forms from 1991-2000. The series also includes personnel files for staff members, containing job offers, salary details, and some correspondence for the staff and student assistants who worked in the library between the years of 1980 and 2004. Series includes schedules and staffing studies.

Series contains early registers of books borrowed from the Library; circulation reports from the head of circulation to the Librarian, detailing circulation statistics such as patron usage, fees incurred, and loans. There are files pertaining to the implementation of the Novanet system, including correspondence between King's and other Nova Scotia libraries.

The series consists of reports and minutes of committees formed for oversight of the Library, as well as those to which the Librarian has belonged. Reports relating to committees that do not pertain directly to the operation of the Library or of which the Librarian is not an ex officio member are in the personnel file associated with the Library employee who belonged to that committee. The series spans two centuries through which committees have had various roles relating to the Library.

Series includes minutes and reports of the Administrative Council, Administrative Management Committee, Aesthetics Committee, Budget Committee, Library Building Committee, Library Committee, and Appointments Committee. These committees either directly relate to the administration of the Library or the Librarian has been an ex officio member of them.

Series consists of correspondence from and to Librarians and other persons associated with the Library concerning Library business. Much of the Library's early history is documented in correspondence. Correspondence from recent decades documents book accessions, book donations, staff appointments, and cooperation with other institutions. Correspondents include members of the Board of Governors, Presidents of the University, and Assistant Librarians.

Series includes early letters discussing the establishment of a library building in Windsor. The earliest records are handwritten, while the latest records are mostly electronic correspondence. The most recent records are from 2011. Correspondence concerns the Library building, book accessions, book donations, and staff appointments.

Series consists of financial records related to the operation of the Library. It includes information on the Library account, endowments from the Library, grant programs, and the Library's budgets. It dates from the first years of the Library to the modern day. Handwritten receipts recorded the purchase of the first books for the Library in London at the time the University was founded. The series also describes Library endowment funds.

The Librarian writes an annual report to the President regarding Library activities and operations during the preceding year. The reports contain information about accessions, budgets, cataloguing, circulation, staffing and Archives, and discussion of future directions for the Library. The biographies folder contains photocopies of obituaries and notices of appointment to the Library staff. The Librarians' portion of the series (sub-series 2.5-2.9) contains correspondence between the Librarians and various faculty members, King's administrators, external librarians, architects, and personal records.

Series contains the annual reports and personal records of the Librarians of the University of King's College. There are files from past librarians including Rev. Benjamin Gerrish Grey (1803-1804), Mary Lane (1971-1981), and Dr. Burns Martin (1936-1953). The majority of the files are documents and correspondence by or to Dr. Wayne Hankey (1982-1991) and Drake Petersen (1991-2011).

Biographies of some of the Librarians, in the form of news clippings and photocopies, are also included.

The Librarians' annual reports span 1867 to 2010, with gaps.

The role of Librarian is set out in the University's internal statutes, which are found in the Board of Governors' fonds, UKC.BOG.1.2. This series contains Library policies; correspondence with other institutions about rationalization of collections; draft and final collections policies; information relating to the cooperative acquisition policy with Dalhousie Libraries.

Series consists of policies collected from all aspects of the Library, including collections, accessions, circulation, special collections, and faculties.

Series consists of accessions lists, donations, catalogues, serials, and weeding lists from 1859-2007. Details of all books acquired by the Library, including accessions and donations lists, are included in the series, as well as lists of books withdrawn from the Library's collections from 1983-2002. Most of the accessions lists are in bound volumes shelved separately. Series includes accession book from the Smith Memorial Library, a former recreational reading collection maintained for students living in campus residences.

Accessions lists are maintained to record additions to the Library's collections. A newly received book is given a unique accession number and added to the accessions list. Books that are withdrawn are noted on weeding lists. Accessions lists have been maintained for most of the Library's history in Halifax. Catalogues and lists of books exist from the Library in Windsor.

Series consists of all publications issued by the Library from 1802 to 2006. The Library issued publications as part of its fund-raising initiatives and the campaign for the new Library building. Some of the brochures are specific to particular sections of the Library, such as the Archives and Special Collections. The Library has also published general information for Library users and visitors. Two 19th-century documents about the history of the library were sent to prospective benefactors in England. Most of the records in the series are brochures for publicity and fund raising. The publications span the history of the library and include histories published by the College in 1802 and 1874.
