Series consists primarily of letters sent from Annie Campbell Huestis to Andrew Merkel between 1915 and 1946. Also included are carbon copies of a few letters sent from Merkel to Huestis, several poems written by Huestis, and two photographs.

Series includes correspondence between Charles Bruce and Andrew Merkel, beginning with Bruce's freshman year at Mount Allison University when Merkel encouraged him to write poetry, and continuing through to the end of World War II, during which Bruce was a war correspondent. Also includes some of Bruce's early work with the Canadian Press.
